DC welding power source is usually used in gas shielded arc welding. At present, the arc welding rectifier DC power source is widely used in production. In recent years, the inverter arc welding power source has developed rapidly. The rated power of welding power depends on the current range required for various uses. The current required for gas shielded arc welding is usually between 100 and 500A, the load persistence rate (also known as temporary load rate) of the power supply is between 60% and 100%, and the no-load voltage is between 55 and 85V.
1. external characteristics of welding power source
The welding power supply for gas shielded arc welding can be divided into three types according to the external characteristics: flat characteristics (constant voltage), steep drop characteristics (constant current) and slow drop characteristics.
Flat characteristic power supply is widely used in production when the shielding gas is inert gas (such as pure Ar), rich Ar and oxidizing gas (such as CO2) and the wire diameter is less than 1.6 mm. This is because the flat characteristic power supply with constant speed wire feeding system has many advantages, by changing the no-load voltage of the power supply to adjust the arc voltage, by changing the wire feeding speed to adjust the welding current, so the welding regulation is more convenient. Using this kind of external characteristic power supply, when the arc length changes, it can have a strong self-regulation effect; at the same time, the short-circuit current is bigger, and the arc ignition is easier. The flat characteristic power supply used in practice is not really straight, but with a certain dip, its dip rate is generally not more than 5V / 100A, but still has the above advantages.
When the diameter of welding wire is larger than 2 mm, the power supply with descending characteristic and variable speed wire overlapping system are usually used in production. Because of the coarser wire diameter, the weak self-regulation of arc, and the slow recovery speed after the change of arc length, it is difficult to ensure a stable welding process by the self-regulation of arc. Therefore, it is necessary to add arc voltage feedback circuit to feed back the change of arc voltage (arc length) to the wire feeding control circuit in time, so as to adjust the wire feeding speed, so that the arc length can be restored in time.
2. power output parameter adjustment
The main technical parameters of gas shielded arc welding power supply are: input voltage (phase number, frequency, voltage), rated welding current range, rated load persistence (%), no-load voltage, load voltage range, type of external characteristic curve (flat characteristic, slow-down external characteristic, steep-down external characteristic), etc. Usually according to the welding process needs to determine the technical parameters of welding power supply requirements, and then choose to meet the requirements of welding power supply.
(1) Arc voltage arc voltage refers to the voltage drop between the welding wire end and the workpiece, not the voltage indicated by the power voltmeter (the voltage at the power output). The pre regulation of the arc voltage is achieved by adjusting the power supply’s no load voltage or the slope of the external characteristic of the power supply. The flat characteristic power mainly realizes the arc voltage regulation by adjusting the no-load voltage. Slow down or steep drop power supply mainly realizes the arc voltage regulation by adjusting the slope of external characteristic.
(2) The current of the welding current level characteristic power supply is mainly realized by adjusting the wire feeding speed, and sometimes by adjusting the no-load voltage to adjust the current a little. For slow descending or steep descending characteristics, the power supply is mainly achieved by adjusting the slope of the external characteristic of the power supply.铜焊丝,Copper Welding Rods,铝焊丝,aluminium welding wire,镍焊条,Nickel electrode,药皮焊条,Flux Coated Brazing Welding Rods
