Argon arc is a simultaneous operation of both right and left hands. It is the same as that of the left hand drawing circle and right hand drawing square in our daily life. Therefore, it is suggested that similar training be carried out for those who are just beginning to learn argon arc welding, which will be helpful to learn argon arc welding.
(1) Filling: Filling in and out.
A. External filler wire can be used for undercutting and filling. It uses larger current. Its welding wire head is on the front of groove, and it is kneaded by left hand. It is continuously fed into molten pool for welding. The groove gap is small or no gap is required.
Its advantages are high production efficiency and easy to master operation skills because of large current and small gap.
The disadvantage of this method is that the operator can not see the situation of passive edge melting and negative excess height, so it is easy to produce unfused and undesirable reverse forming.
B. The inner filler wire can only be used for bottom welding. It uses the left thumb, index finger or middle finger to cooperate with wire feeding. The small finger and ring finger clamp the welding wire to control the direction. The welding wire is close to the inner blunt edge of the groove and melts with the blunt edge. The gap between the groove and the diameter of the welding wire is required. If the plate is used, the welding wire can be bent into an arc.
Its advantage is that the welding wire on the opposite side of the groove can clearly see the melting of the blunt edge and the welding wire, and the residual light of the eyes can also see the situation of the residual height on the opposite side, so the welding seam can be well fused, the residual height on the opposite side and the non-fusion can be well controlled.
The disadvantage is that the operation is difficult, requiring the welder to have more skilled operation skills, because the gap is large, so the welding quantity increases correspondingly, the gap is large, so the current is low, and the work efficiency is slower than the external filling wire.
(2) Welding handle, divided into swing handle and mop.
A. Shake handle is to press the nozzle slightly on the top of the weld, and shake the arm substantially for welding. Its advantage is that because the welding nozzle is pressed on the welding seam, the welding handle is very stable in the operation process, so the welding seam is well protected, the quality is good, the appearance is very beautiful, and the product qualified rate is high, especially the welding up is very convenient, and the beautiful appearance color can be obtained when welding stainless steel. The disadvantage is that it is difficult to learn. Because of the large range of arm shaking, it is impossible to weld at obstacles.
B. The mop is that the welding nozzle is lightly leaned or leaned on the welding seam, the right little finger or ring finger is also leaned or leaned on the workpiece, the arm swings small, dragging the welding handle for welding. Its advantages are easy to learn, good adaptability, and its shortcomings are that the forming and quality are not shaken properly. Especially, it is difficult to get the ideal color and shape when welding stainless steel.
(3) starting arc
Arc ignition usually uses arc igniter (high frequency oscillator or high frequency pulse generator), tungsten electrode and welding parts do not contact arc ignition, no arc igniter uses contact arc ignition (mostly for site installation, especially high altitude installation), can be used copper or graphite on the weldment groove arc ignition, but this method is more troublesome, less used, general. The arc is ignited by a slight slice of welding wire, which makes the welding parts and tungsten poles short-circuit and quickly disconnect.
(4) welding
After ignition, the arc should be preheated for 3 to 5 seconds at the beginning of the weld, and wire feeding will begin after the formation of the molten pool. When welding, the angle of welding torch should be appropriate and the wire should be fed uniformly. The welding torch moves forward smoothly and swings slightly slowly on both sides and slightly faster in the middle. We should pay close attention to the change of the pool. When the pool becomes bigger, the weld becomes wider or concave, we should speed up the welding speed or re-adjust the welding current. When the molten pool fusion is not good and the wire feeding feels immovable, the welding speed should be reduced or the welding current should be increased. If the bottom welding eyes are focused on the two sides of the groove, the residual light of the eye angle should be on the opposite side of the seam, and the other high changes should be noticed.
(5) arc suppression
If direct arc closure is easy to produce shrinkage holes, if there are arc arresters, the torch should be interrupted arc closure or adjusted to the appropriate arc current slow arc closure, if there is no arc arrester welding machine, the arc will be slowly led to the side of the groove, do not produce shrinkage holes, if there are shrinkage holes to be polished clean before welding.
If the arc closing is at the joint, it should first be grinded into an oblique slot at the joint, and then welded 10-20 mm forward before slowly closing the arc. No shrinkage hole can be produced. In production, it is often seen that the joints are not grinded into bevels, and the welding time at the joints is directly lengthened. This is a bad habit. In this way, the joints are prone to concave, unfused and reverse disjoints, which affect the forming beauty. For example, cracks are also prone to occur in high alloy materials.
After welding, the appearance is qualified and the power supply and gas should be turned off.
