One
What is acid electrode?
Answer: there are many acid oxide electrodes in the coating, such as AC and DC electrodes such as junction 422 (E4303) and junction 502 (e5003).
Two
What is alkaline electrode?
Answer: there are a lot of basic oxides in the coating and fluorides in the coating, such as 507 (E5015) and 506 (E5016) electrodes.
Three
What is cellulosic electrode?
Answer: the electrode containing a lot of organic matters in the coating is specially used for vertical welding of pipeline and thin plate structure.
For example, E6010 (equivalent to E4310 and j425g) is suitable for backing welding, hot welding and filling welding.
E8010 (equivalent to e5511 and J555) is suitable for hot welding, filling welding and cover welding.
Generally, cover welding with low hydrogen downward electrode; e7048 (equivalent to j506x) weld appearance is neat and beautiful.
Four
Why should welding rod be dried strictly before welding?
Answer: the electrode will often deteriorate the process performance due to moisture absorption, resulting in unstable arc, increased spatter, and prone to defects such as pores and cracks. Therefore, the electrode must be dried strictly before use. Generally, the drying temperature of acid electrode is 150-200 ℃, and the drying time is 1 hour; the drying temperature of basic electrode is 350-400 ℃, and the drying time is 1-2 hours. After drying, the electrode is placed in the heat preservation box of 100-150 ℃, which is ready for use.

What is welding wire?
Answer: when welding, it is used as filler metal and conductive wire – called welding wire. There are two kinds of solid wire and flux cored wire. Commonly used solid wire model: ER50-6 (Brand: H08Mn2SiA).
Six
What is flux cored wire?
Answer: it is a kind of welding wire drawn from thin steel strip rolled into circular steel pipe and filled with powder of certain composition at the same time.
Seven
Why are flux cored wires protected by CO2 gas?
Answer: there are two types of flux cored wire according to the protection method: flux cored gas shielded wire and flux cored self shielded wire. The flux cored gas shielded wire is generally protected by CO2 gas, which belongs to the form of gas slag combined protection. The weld is well formed and has high comprehensive mechanical properties.
Eight
When is the welding material scrapped?
The welding core is rusted, the coating adheres, peels off and is seriously affected with damp (especially low hydrogen type welding rod, heat-resistant steel welding rod and low-temperature steel welding rod). Such welding rod cannot be used again and shall be scrapped.
Nine
What are the effects of damp electrode?
After the electrode is damped, the color of the general coating is dark, the electrode collision loses the crisp metal sound, and some even return to alkali to appear “white flowers”.
Influence of wet electrode on welding process:
(1) the arc is unstable, the spatter increases, and the particles are too large.
(2) large penetration, easy to bite.
(3) poor slag coverage and rough welding wave.
(4) it is difficult to clean the slag.
Influence of wet electrode on welding quality:
(1) it is easy to cause welding crack and air hole, especially alkaline electrode.
(2) the values of mechanical properties are easy to be low.

What are the effects of wire moisture?
The moisture absorption wire can increase the content of diffusible hydrogen in the deposited metal, produce defects such as pits, pores, etc. the welding process performance and the mechanical properties of the weld metal become worse, which can lead to the weld cracking seriously.铜焊丝,Copper Welding Rods,铝焊丝,aluminium welding wire,镍焊条,Nickel electrode,药皮焊条,Flux Coated Brazing Welding Rods
